Scotty Sanders, author of the highly successful “ONE Focus Living” is officially launching his first fantasy fiction book “Quest of the Keys.” The book launch will take place this coming August 12 at the First Baptist Church in West Monroe, with a program beginning at 5pm and a reception and book signing to follow.
This will be a highly produced event with a decorated hall that will take visitors into the land of Leonesse, the city from where the protagonist Decklen starts his journey; costumed actors who introduce guests to characters in the book; refreshments; a short program and more. Sanders will also be autographing advance copies of the book, which is set to release to the public on September 1, 2012.
Sanders says, “Most books entertain or educate. “Quest of the Keys” is an exception to that rule. I believe the reader will find the book not only entertaining but engaging and enlightening.”
The actors will also perform several scenes from “Quest of the Keys.” These are professional film and stage actors with the lead character of Decklen being played by Major Dodge, a former MMA fighter turned actor, who has appeared in films, television, commercials, improv comedy and Broadway stage productions. His television roles include “Law and Order” and “30 Rock.” Other actors include Louisiana actors Rachel Whittle, Troy Wold and Meghan Woods.
“Quest of the Keys” is a story of Decklen who has narrowly escaped death in the Minca Silver Mines, and sworn to return to those he left behind. Joined by an unlikely sojourner, he sets out for the majestic realm of Leonesse, and assistance from the elder Octavius. But rather than finding swords and strategy, Decklen receives a locked golden cylinder containing an ancient scroll. Tasked with opening the scroll, Decklen and his companion find themselves on an unexpected path of danger and discovery, in search of hidden keys that unlock the true secrets to success… and determine the fate of an entire kingdom. The book incorporates leadership principles and character development skills for young adults as it weaves a captivating and adventurous story.
