Each year the Christian Women in Media hold a national conference hosting some of the most influential Christian women in the country. This year’s theme is “Inspire…Influence…Impact! Engaging Our Culture Through Media” and will be held April 25-27 at the Double Tree Hilton Hotel in Dallas, Texas.
This three-day event includes keynote speakers such as singer, author and Women of Faith speaker Sheila Walsh; author and Women of Faith speaker Thelma Wells; author and speaker Ruth Graham (daughter of Billy Graham); Carol Cymbala, wife of Pastor Jim Cymbala and director of the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir; and Karen Covell, documentary film producer and director of the Hollywood Prayer Network.
Each year since 2006, the Christian Women in Media Association (CWIMA), a group of women in all facets of media, gather together with their friends and colleagues to connect with leading media personalities, gain inspiration and knowledge, invest in their career and refresh their faith.

CWIMA is an organization I have become very involved in not only as a member but also as the National Social Media Director and a member of the President’s Task Force. I would like to encourage any Christian women working in media to attend. You will learn, make special friendships and be inspired. Plus, you’ll just have tons of fun…the best “girl time” to be found anywhere!
Also, I am very excited to be among the speakers for the second year in a row, co-presenting a media workshop entitled “Putting the Power of Social Media and Blogging to Work for You,” which will take place on Friday, April 26, from 1:30pm to 2:30pm. Joining me will be Carol Doyel of LivingBetterat50.com, who will talk about how to build a blogger base and content using Twitter. As a publicist and owner of Premier1 Studios, an entertainment media and marketing company, I will share my techniques for building a unique brand through social media, setting social media objectives, creating effective content, as well as utilizing proper social media etiquette and more.
So if you haven’t registered yet, it’s not too late. Go to www.cwima.org/conference for more information and registration!
